The term “Herkimer Diamond”, as these stones are called, is a bit of a misnomer considering they aren’t actually diamonds at all! These are highly refractive, double terminated (two end points) quartz crystals that form, almost completely unattached to their host rocks. They can only be found in a very few places in the world, Herkimer, NY being one location, hence their name.

Each crystal is completely unique, we do our very best to match them closely in size and shape. The stones may be subject to tiny black carbon inclusions or internal fracturing which is NORMAL and to be expected of raw stones of this nature.
